Tulip Town with Grandma & Odette

We were just in time!  The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival was coming to a close, but Odette, mom, Samantha and I managed to pick a day with decent weather and still plenty of beautiful tulips for our viewing enjoyment.  Samantha had a grand ol' time roaming through the rows of brilliant color and galloping allong the dirt walkways.  And I loved getting some adult time and some great help keeping track of little Sam.

Snohomish River Walk

Last weekend I was craving Mexican food, so Andrew, Sami and I headed to downtown Snohomish to our favorite place, Todo Mexico.  It is a very charming little restaurant situated above the Snohomish River and owned by one of my dance students from back in my ballroom dancing days.  They have the very best chips and salsa!! After dinner, during which Sami was very well behaved, we decided to take a little walk along the river. I was a beautiful evening and we got some fantastic pictures.

A Happy Easter

We woke up on Easter morning to a very pleasant surprise...sunshine!  The weather forecast had been saying rain, rain, rain so we were delighted with the warm rays poking through the bedroom window blinds - I just hoped they would stay out long enough for us to fit in an outdoor egg hunt for Sami...I was not dissappointed. 

Backyard Fun at Grandma & Grandpa's

Today was a beautiful day, probably the warmest we have had so far this year. It was a perfect day for a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house so we packed up our gear and headed up the hill, ready for some more spring fun.

My little girl is developing quite an arm already! 

We spent a lot of time helping grandpa with some weeding.  Sami is so very helpful and also demonstrates management qualities. If grandpa or I weren't working hard enough she would make sure to help us get back on task by taking hold of our hands, putting a tool in them and motioning us to get back to work!

Taking a break. Marshmellows are a traditional treat whenever we come to visit. Sami always looks forward to it and heads straight for the pantry as soon as we arrive.

Good Times with Daddy

I just love it when Andrew plays like this with Sami.  She has so much fun and it burns off some of her energy supply...:)  They are like two peas in a pod!
